The Garvan Pavilion is our signature outdoor venue with extensive flagstone paving and native Arkansas boulders accenting the architectural presence of the structure in the gardens. Located next to the lovely year-round flowering border, this is the largest venue for an outdoor ceremony and/or reception. The vaulted ceiling of the pavilion offers partial covering, while an architectural oculus allows for natural air flow. Restroom facilities are adjacent to the pavilion area, which is a short walk from the Welcome Center entrance to the gardens.
Designed by the architecture firm of E. Fay Jones and Maurice Jennings in the tradition of Fay Jones’ mentor – Frank Lloyd Wright – the open-air, covered pavilion has a maximum capacity of 120 and the terrace capacity is an additional 40, making 160 the total capacity (see photos below). Expansive flagstone paving surrounds the entire terrace area of the Pavilion. Chairs and tables are included in the rental. The rental is 8 hours for $3,000. A Wedding Coordinator is required for all GWG weddings that include 15 or more people (bride & groom, officiant, photographer and all). For any GWG wedding with a separate Pavilion reception, a coordinator must be present at each location. For couples with a Chapel wedding and Pavilion reception, a golf cart guest shuttle is included, pre- and post-ceremony. And, each wedding guest receives free entry into the Gardens on the day of the wedding.
